We are seeking a Project Accountant to join a large award-winning architectural practise based in South East London. Their current projects include masterplans, new homes, cultural, education, health, retail, hotel and office buildings for institutional, public and private clients in the UK and abroad.
Working within the Finance Team, the Project Accountant will assist in the management and control of the Practice's key financial processes. As an integral part of a small team, you will work closely with the Finance Director to manage a diverse portfolio of the practices projects, across a variety of sectors, scale and complexity.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the financial analysis of a portfolio of projects, ensuring all fee, budget and resource information are up to date
Undertaking monthly project WIP reviews with the Project Leader to ensure projects are operating within targeted performance requirements
Liaising with project leaders to effectively and efficiently manage and administer a monthly billing cycle, ensuring deadlines are achieved and client protocols are adhered to
Create and update fee drawdown schedules, ensuring cashflows support anticipated project resource requirements
Provide job costing analysis and fee calculations to assist with client fee submissions and tendering for new work
Producing a variety of financial reports to assist with decision making and presentation to Partners
Assist Finance Director with any ad hoc tasks
Skills and Experience
Part qualified accountant, studying towards a CIMA or ACCA qualification
Previous project accounting experience within a professional services environment that provide design services to the construction industry
A working knowledge of revenue recognition on an accruals basis
Strong Excel (pivot tables, vlookups and comfortable with large sets of data and schedules)
Previous experience using Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint desirable
