Graphic Designer Maternity Contract

Contract £17K for 3 days per week
Southwark, London – 3 days in the office
A leading leisure company are looking for a talented graphic designer/artworker to take on a wide range of design responsibilities including the creation of brochures, offline adverts, online HTML5 banners, animated maps, leaflets, stationery for 10 months starting at the end of July. You will be someone with creativity and a pride in your work, a natural technical problem-solving outlook, an ability to work to deadlines and to work independently as well as being part of a team. Excellent communication skills are essential as the successful candidate will work closely with other departments and external suppliers.
Responsibilities of the Graphic Designer:
* Creation of marketing material including offline adverts, brochures, leaflets and stationery using InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Incopy and Adsend/Adstream
* Creation of HTML5 online banner adverts using Photoshop and Google Web Designer
* Manipulate graphic applications to produce periphery artwork such as maps, cut outs, special effects and image enhancements
* Create animated maps using Adobe Animate
* Create illustrations using vectors
* Provide imagery to their PR agency for use in articles and for use in email campaigns
* Work to tight deadlines ensuring these are met with total accuracy
* Control, maintain and develop the in-house picture library and to use appropriately, including sourcing from online image libraries
* Maintain efficient working practices, good communications and relationships with all associated departments
* Maintain the style, character and quality of the brand in all aspects of design by following brand guidelines
Skills and experience:
* At least 3 years’ experience working in a design department
* Graphic Design qualification
* InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Adobe Animate, Incopy and Bridge (all within Creative Cloud)
* Google Web Designer
* HTML5 advantageous
* GREP advantageous
* Video creation and editing advantageous
* Ability to ready artwork for print
* Accurate spelling, grammar, punctuation and a full command of the English language is essential
