Salary : £45000 – £55000/annum

Our client is seeking a CAD Manager to join their busy and dedicated drafting and engineering team. Working on high profile port and maritime infrastructure projects internationally, you will take overall responsibility for the production of 2D and 3D civil and structural engineering drawings and models, from layout development up to detailed construction stage drawings.

The role includes general management of the CAD team, the development and mentoring of junior CAD staff, ensuring quality and compliance with existing 2D and 3D CAD standards by the full team, and further development of the company's 3D drafting capability and standards.

The Role

Manage delivery of 2D and 3D CAD elements of projects
Ensuring quality and compliance of all CAD deliverables produced within company in accordance with company standards and international best practices
Production of models and drawings in accordance with CAD standards
Production of layout drawings and detailed construction drawings, typically including but not limited to terminal layout development, civil works (pavements, drainage, underground services, etc.), reinforced concrete and steel structures
Driving and further developing the company's implementation of 3D drafting, and incorporation of BIM technology / software where applicable
Development, management and maintenance of 3D CAD and BIM standards, asset libraries, model catalogues, template files, etc., consistent with international best practices
Supervision and mentoring of the CAD team (in particular junior CAD staff) in both the use of software and arrangement of drawings
Manage the productivity and workflow of the CAD team
Manage the training and continuing professional development of the CAD team
Manage the recruitment process of the CAD team
Arranging and chairing coordination meetings with the CAD team, and also with the engineering team where relevant
Preparing estimates of CAD inputs / requirements for potential or upcoming projectsWhat you need to succeed

Minimum 10 years' experience of working across common industry 2D and 3D CAD packages, particularly the Autodesk suite.
High level proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD
Experience in Autodesk 3D tools such as Civil 3D, Revit, and/or Navisworks
Knowledgeable of British Standards (BS/PAS Series) and ISO standards for CAD
Experience of working on civil and structural projects, including underground services networks and detailing of reinforced concrete and/or steel structures
Experience of leading and developing other team members
Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision and provide support and mentoring to othersDesirables

Experience in drafting for maritime infrastructure
Significant experience in underground services networks, including 3D clash checking
High level proficiency in Autodesk 3D tools such as Civil 3D, Revit, InfraWorks and/or Navisworks
Experience / familiarity with BIM 360 or equivalent BIM management software
Ability to travel to client sites and/or other offices could be requiredWhat you need to do
