This role is being offered on a hybrid basis, with time spent in the office depending on the project – typically 1-2 days per week if required.
We are delighted to be recruiting an experienced Midweight / Senior Designer for our client who is a growing agency, specialising in financial services. They work with leading sector brands in the industry. They are a small, friendly team based in Guildford, Surrey, and as a growing business they are looking for a Midweight / Senior Designer to work on a hybrid basis who is interested in making financial services better for everyone and has a passion for effective design.
Job Description
Versatility is very important for this role; you will be able to turn your design hand to a range of projects and the Midweight / Senior Designers’ key responsibilities will include:
Effectively interpret client objectives into great ideas and design concepts to a high standard
Participate in client briefing calls to understand client requirements
Understand the need to conform to the client identity
Balance imagination with realistic implementation
Present work both internally and to the client in an inspiring and confident manner
Develop and maintain good working relationships with other departments within the organisation
Ability to differentiate between an idea and an execution and interpret the Creative Brief
Ability to work accurately under pressure, ensuring creative work is accurate and appropriate for either print or digital production
Work well at pace and meet agreed timelines, ensuring deadlines are met and projects delivered to a quality standard
Our client is looking for someone who is passionate about design, their ideas, quality of output and always looking to learn and innovate as well as lead and inspire. The Midweight / Senior Designer will therefore:
Have creative agency experience which is essential
Design based history/education with industry experience of on and off-line design
Be a confident designer who can bring ideas to life through concept generation, rough sketching, mac visuals and ultimately presenting ideas internally and to clients
Have a body of work that demonstrates experience of multiple clients across multiple markets
Excellent design craft skills in typography, layout and colour balance
A good understanding of UX design and accessibility
Web/Mobile/App UI design
Typography/Iconography/Photo retouching/Infographics/Print design/Press Advertisement Design/Social media asset creation/Prototyping/Understanding of online accessibility are all necessary disciplines
Good communication skills, confident in presenting design ideas and the ability to inspire at all levels
Mac literate with advanced use of Adobe Creative Suite (including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, XD), Microsoft Office applications (specifically PowerPoint), Sketch or Figma
Confident design skills for both print and digital media, and ability to adapt style and approach to different clients and target audiences
Working knowledge of After Effects animation would be advantageous
Have an eye for detail and a flair for creativity
Have excellent organisational skills and a desire to never miss a deadline
Sound knowledge of digital production and animation including understanding responsive design (HTML5 and HTML banners)
High level of finish for presentation concepts
Good organisational, planning and execution skills
Have a pro-active, energetic, “can-do” attitude which is essential
Always look to go beyond the brief, never be content or happy with average
Have a positive approach and a passion for digital design and be a willing team player
Have the ability to work to tight deadlines and on multiple projects at the same time and to work closely with the team, office based or remotely
3D software would be desired but not essential
