Website Developer – Inhouse (F/T or P/T)

Job Type : Permanent, Full Time

Salary : £30000 – £40000/annum

The COMPANY: A prominent and highly successful specialist manufacturing company established 25 years, supplying the construction, rail, nuclear and manufacturing industries in the UK and overseas. The firm has been recognised with multiple awards and has twice been included in the 'Sunday Times Fast Track 100’.
The ROLE: Reporting to the Head of Marketing, a versatile and creative Website 'Developer & Manager' is required to oversee the company’s extensive group of websites – i.e. the main (corporate) site, product/brand niche microsites and a transactional (e-commerce) site for parts, spares and accessories. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced developer to ‘own’ the look and feel’ of the websites, their functionality and inter-dependence, in addition to collating content (but NB, not generating/writing it). The Website Manager will thus be given creative freedom to bring their personality and flair to the role – whether it be relating to functionality, SEO performance, photography, design, content presentation, plug-ins, server/domain hosting or social media engagement. You would also act as the de-facto inhouse ‘first-line support’ for all web-related technical issues such as bugs and downtime etc.
The IDEAL CANDIDATE will probably (but not necessarily) be a graduate in computing or digital media but must be somebody with at least two years’ strong web development experience – i.e. combining development with strategy, design, outreach and some analytics. Knowledge of Magento, WordPress and PHP are crucial whilst Adobe suite and Photoshop are desirable but not essential. Previous experience in managing an e-commerce platform with payment/gateway functionality would be a distinct advantage. To be considered you should also be competent in SSL, CDN, standard SEO techniques and Google Analytics. Perhaps of most importance are a keen eye for creative detail and the versatility to occasionally switch project and multitask effectively.
The role is full-time and based in spacious and comfortable premises adjacent to the M60 and thus easily accessible by car from all parts of Greater Manchester and W.Yorks. There is a direct bus from Piccadilly (c. 30 mins).
This is an outstanding and high-profile opportunity with a company which has a strong philosophy of retaining and rewarding employees, resulting in a very low staff turnover.
First interviews with our client will be held in early July.
