MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, to work with a leading manufacturer of advanced process technology, who have a rich, well-established background. They have sites here in the UK and overseas

Pay, Hours and Benefits

* £35,000 – £40,000

* Monday to Thursday, 8:30am – 5pm, 1:30pm Finish on Friday’s

* 30 days holiday (inc statutory) plus an additional three days at Christmas

Commutable From: Corby, Wisbech, Spalding, Stamford, Peterborough

Role Function: Mechanical Design Engineer

* Issue machines and ancillary equipment to contract, whilst maintaining a modular product structure for product range.

* Play an active role in engineering development projects.

* Provide technical assistance to Sales and Customer Services departments to aid a smooth contract execution.

Person Specification

* Qualified to HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in Engineering, or with an equivalent level of experience.

* The Mechanical Design Engineer will be a highly motivated, confident and dedicated professional.

* Competent in the use of 3D design (ideally NX, but not essential) and ERP business systems.

* An innovative engineer with an analytical approach to problem solving.

* Able to work alone or as a member of a design team.

* Good communication skills.

* Good PC literacy skills – Word, Excel, Powerpoint.

* Able to travel both within the UK and throughout the world

Mechanical Design Engineer Key Responsibilities

* Ensure accurate drawings and parts lists are produced in accordance with company standards and quality procedures.

* Manage priorities to ensure project schedules are maintained.

* Compliance of equipment with legislation (e.g. EC Directives), company standards and quality procedures.

* Maintain and update drawings and parts lists by completion of change requests.

* The Mechanical Design Engineer will work with suppliers to ensure applications are fully and reliably implemented.

* Undertake calculations to aid design work on projects.

* Brief field engineers and visit customer sites when necessary.

* Support engineering development, sales and customer services as appropriate.

* To be aware of and follow all company Health & Safety policies and procedures in respect of self and others.
