Job summary:
A key focus of this post will be to provide professional skills and expertise to tackle security management issues across a generic range of proactive & reactive action ensuring high quality local delivery of this work.
Head of service for all associated services within scope of role, with full responsibility and accountability for the service delivery, resource management and performance services include access, security, car parking, traffic management, courtesy bus, wayfinding and staff transport and travel.
To provide specialist security advice to the Trust taking a lead role in the training and education of all staff in security and related topics ensuring the Trust complies with all NHS security guidance and legal requirements.
To work on behalf of the Trust to deliver an environment that is safe and secure so that the highest standards of clinical care can be made available to patients, by working in close partnership with stakeholders within the NHS, (both within own organisation & those in other NHS organisations), and external organisations such as the police and professional representative bodies.
Trust lead for all violence reduction activities across the Trust, including responsibility for the implementation and management for the Violence Prevention & Reduction Standards.
Develop and deliver the necessary strategic strategies and associated business cases, covering operational, physical and technical needs of all services and focusing on delivery of service over 2 & 5 year plans, contributing to strategic and annual business planning for Capital, Estates & Facilities Management.

Qualifications:
Degree in Security Management or equivalent
Security Management qualification or equivalent healthcare working experience
Experience:
Significant experience of working at a senior management level within a security management discipline
Experience in providing security solutions to enhance service delivery
Experience of managing security services in the NHS or public sector
Ability to chair and effectively participate at meeting
Ability to recognise the need to escalate
Experience risk-based work including risk assessments, risk profile and security hazards
Knowledge:
Clear knowledge of contract management within a security environment
Understanding and clear knowledge of operational management and delivery
Knowledge of organisational security related risks
Knowledge of law in relation to security management and investigations
Ability to compile concise and accurate management reports
