Design Manager

Salary : £45000 – £75000/annum
Design Manager needed in Reading.
To work on a design and build of a nuclear licensed facility. Experience of working in highly regulated environments Nuclear Licenced Sites and MOD sites would be advantageous.
The scope of works for this project will include Programme Management, Construction, Building Services (M&E), Instrumentation and Control Systems and various external works.
Salary is depending on experience up to £75,000 p/a.
Due to the nature of the work Potential candidates for this role must be able to obtain and retain Security Clearance to be able to be considered.
Our client is looking for a Design Manager who will be:
Managing design change from identification, solution development, review, and delivery
Coordinating design interfaces and inputs between design house, Construction team and 4C designers (Contractors)
Providing management support to the Senior Design Manager and Clients design team
Manage the design house delivery of architectural fit out deliverables through certification and addressing technical queries.
Liaising with the client's Assurance team and engineering managers
Ensuring schedule risks resulting from design impact are identified to the Design Lead and Programme Director and providing mitigation measures as appropriateYou will also be expected to have an understanding the implications of health, safety, and environmental regulations on design deliverables
Essential requirements:
Able to obtain (or currently hold) minimum of S/C security clearance
Post-graduate design, engineering or management experience in infrastructure or related industry
Hold an ICE/IMechE accredited degree
Chartered Membership of ICE/IMechE (or working towards)
Understand the operation of EDMS and design workflows
Experience delivering civil, structural, and architectural design packages
Strong negotiating
Excellent team-working skills
Strong analytical skills
Demonstrable legal, contractual and construction knowledge
