CAD Technician
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £28000 – £32000/annum
Our client is an established exhibition design and build company who is looking for an experienced CAD Technician to focus within exhibitions to manage a range of small, medium and large-scale builds.
The successful candidate will get the chance to work with some of the best in the industry. Working with the in-house experts covering exhibition production and event management, the work delivered is high profile and everything in between.
Duties:
* Creating detailed and accurate floorplans, graphic elevation plans, on-site service plans and full build instructions and elevations for custom/bespoke exhibition and modular/system stands with a good understanding of materials and components
* Working alongside the creative studio to produce comprehensive technical drawings for clients, project managers and stand builders
* Ensure timely and accurate completion of drawings to comply with project requirements
* Excellent use of AutoCAD to produce high quality drawings
* Good communication with internal/freelance designers, estimators and operational staff
* Assist in Document controlling
* Ability to read engineers structural drawings and / or notes
* Ability to work to tight deadlines
* Carrying out ad hoc tasks as instructed
* Constantly develop relevant software skills
Skills and Experience:
* 3-4 years professional CAD design experience (background in carpentry would be an advantage)
* Exhibition experience is essential and a good knowledge of manufacture with-in a workshop environment
* 3D CAD and technical drawing skills in (knowledge of a 3D modelling software such as 3D Studio Max would be an advantage)
* Trade show specific design experience/Modular exhibition system
* Adobe Creative Suite experience
* Confidence to work with major global brands on large projects
