Are you a senior level Senior Mechanical Design Engineer looking for your next opportunity? We are currently representing a company who have been established for 20 years but are new to the UK. This is a very exciting time to be joining the business. As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will have an integral input into the future of the business and design team. You will be working with a small UK team, full time working from home, with an initiation period of training with a Senior Engineer. They specialise in the process field, so this would suit a Designer from the Pipeline, Process, Water or similar industries. They are offering an attractive salary circa to £50k with additional benefits.
Their global headquarters are based in North Haven, Connecticut along with partners throughout the world, therefore there will be some overseas travel required.
Responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be the design of ballast water treatment equipment used on commercial vessels. Design of piping and equipment, fabrication support drawings, document/change control, regulatory documentation and engineering support services. You will lead the design and development of new and existing products and participate in project reviews through each stage of a project.
The key skills required for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be:
Degree qualified in Mechanical or Design preferred.
Competent user of Solidworks and AutoCAD.
Experience of mechanical design within either the Process, Pipeline, Water, Marine or equivalent industries.
Excellent communication skills – you will be interacting with all types of people and companies. This will require tactful and clear written, phone and in-person correspondence.
Drawing and document control.
Basic calculations experience.
Competent IT user, confident with Microsoft Office (in particular, Word, Excel and Outlook).
