Conrad Consulting are delighted to be working with one of the worlds leading professional services firm with 125 offices around the globe, seeking to appoint an Architectural Technologist to join their regional office in Birmingham city centre, with agile/remote working available.

The company in question are a large scale multi-disciplinary professional services firm with over 5,000 employees in a wide range of disciplines, including; Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Engineering, Surveying, Building Services, Project Management, and much more. The Architectural team in Birmingham are going from strength to strength, and as a result in a significant uptick in workload in the Residential sector, there is now an opportunity available for an Architectural Technologist to join their growing team.

The company work in a wide range of sectors and project types, including everything from small scale Residential schemes, all the way through to large scale Distribution centres, sporting stadia, student accommodation and more. The Birmingham team in particular have a strong focus on the Housing sector, encompassing luxury one off homes, multi unit developments, affordable housing, apartments and more. As a Architectural Technician, it would be beneficial for you to have a solid background in the housing sector, ideally having worked in, or alongside, housing developers.

The position on offer is for an Architectural Technologist with approximately 5 years of industry experience, although those with 2-3 years of solid experience in a housing developer environment will also be considered. You will be joining a diverse team, with the opportunity to strive for the next step in your career in a large scale consultancy environment. The practice in Birmingham use AutoCAD & Revit software, with AutoCAD proficiency being essential to this role and Revit being a desirable trait (training can be provided where necessary).

Examples of responsibilities of the Architectural Technologist include the following:

Working closely with Line Manager to assist in the technical delivery of projects
Establishing and maintaining good relationships with external project team members as appropriate
Attending project / client meetings and assisting with site inspections and surveys as required
Using own initiative and demonstrating independent working ability when required
Conducting activities and producing outputs in line with relevant legislation and industry standards
Completing designs, applying sound technical knowledge relevant to the role
Assist in managing drawings production, and checking CAD design work in collaboration with colleagues
Participating fully within the team, adopting RPS behaviours and good working practices
Managing own continuous professional development and continually improving discipline knowledge and awareness
Additional duties as required

Ideal criteria and essential skills of the Architectural Technologist as follows:

Degree in Architectural Technology or an HNC in a related field
Minimum 2-3 years experience having worked in a Housing focused role (ideally in a housebuilder environment)
Capability in the use of CAD to produce housing layouts, street scenes and working drawings
Good verbal and written communication skills
Revit proficiency (desirable)

The successful Architectural Technologist will be offered a competitive salary and benefits package which will include the following:
