Our client based in Clacton is looking for a senior draughtsperson to join their CAD team.

JOB PURPOSE:

You will work as part of the CAD team to deliver first class customer service and ensure that all CAD related tasks are produced in line with company and customer requirements. You will be required to support the sales journey; right from helping generate Bill of Materials for quoting all the way through to issuing fabrication drawings and making sure they’re constructed correctly. All of this will be done using the correct software and ensuring that all information and designs provided are accurate, using the latest design methods and meeting the correct specifications. You’ll also be using the Traction system to identify and deliver priorities to ensure consistent growth within a happy motivated team.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Senior Draughtsperson, you will be responsible for the following:

* Regularly prepare accurate drawings using a combination of both Dura Components and tools to aid with design/calculations.

* Assist with the quotation process by utilising customer information as well as the correct software to produce accurate Bill of Materials.

* Liaising with internal customers to problem solve any technical or practical issues relative to sales enquiries. Making sure all stakeholders are kept up to date and provided the correct solution.

* Liaise with internal production teams, creating necessary production drawings and being a point of contact for any questions/concerns throughout the process.

* Assist with both Marketing and Sales initiatives, gathering/creating the information necessary to produce technical manuals and exhibition stands.

* Maintenance and creation of BIM compliant products stored in an online Library for both internal and external use.

* Be conscious of what National or Industry specific standards may be required for a project and how best to apply them.

* Accurate filing of design documentation as well as managing/logging of projects using internal management systems.

* Be forward-thinking and creative, having the ability to contribute towards design proposals and new product solutions.

* Developing and maintaining our existing design library of components, settings and profiles in order to make sure we’re as efficient as can be.

* Attend regular design reviews to share lessons learned and liaise with key departments to process change requests.

* Proficient in AutoCAD, Solidworks, Revit and/or other similar design software.
