Design Coordinator / Manager
Location: Flexible working available, where you will be based out of our Loughton Office with home working available and some travel to other offices and sites around London and the South East
Business Area: Kier Places – Capital Projects
Contract & hours: Permanent, full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of flexibility in core hours
Salary: £38,000 to £45,000 + car/allowance
Kier Places are recruiting now for a Design Coordinator / Manager to join their Operational Capital projects team in Loughton/London, who specialise in delivering refurbishment and new build construction projects, with a focus on delivering a number of refurbishment and cladding replacement projects within occupied buildings up to values of £10million.
This would be a great role for a Design Co-ordinator / Manager who wants to further their career in Design Management with a Tier 1 contractor. You will drive forward on design matters passed over from our Pre-Con team Design Managers who will take the project to RIBA Stage 4, to the point of securing the construction contract. The project will then be handed over to the operational team and the successful Design Co-ordinator to see the project through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
As Design Coordinator / Manager you'll assist in the execution of the Design Management Plan, drawing reviews, markups and issue; manage the ViewPoint drawing uploads; and chair & minute Design Team Meetings throughout the project.
Within this role, you will also produce and report on Information Release Schedules whilst co-ordinating and sharing information between different designers and subcontractors where design information interface with each other.
What do we need from you?
To make the most out of this role, you'll bring with you experience in a similar role, or be in a position to advance your career into this role, with experience in software packages including ViewPoint and Bluebeam Revu. You'll also be comfortable with the Microsoft Office suite, and have robust & efficient documentation and record keeping, which is essential in this role
With a good understanding of construction process and buildability matters, you'll also have an understanding of Building Regulations and the RIBA Processes of Works, particularly Stages 5+.
