AMETEK Airtechnology Group is a Design to Manufacture Business which specialises in designing and manufacturing both Thermal Systems and Motion Control products. We have two dedicated manufacturing facilities in the UK as well as an AMETEK shared manufacturing facility in Serbia.
With most of its products being highly engineered and designed to spec, AMETEK Airtechnology Group has a complete compliment of Engineering specialists, Programme Management, Design Engineers, tools and test facilities to offer a turn-key service, taking your requirements through design, prototyping, qualification and into production.
We are now looking for an Assembler to join our successful team.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
You will be carrying out some of the following duties:
* Mechanical assembly work to drawing and/or CMMs.
* Electro/mechanical work, fan/motors and or heaters to drawing and/or CMMs.
* Use basic hand tools and measuring equipment. For example torque drivers, crimping tools, micrometers and verniers
* Soldering of small components
* Brazing
* Carry out, where appropriate, mechanical and electrical tests as defined in the process control documents. For example: Flash, resistance and inductance
* Adhere to all company manufacturing procedures.
* Complete all relevant documentation.
* Provide any information or help required to customers, suppliers and visitors from other companies within our group of companies who often tour the factory floors, and may well take the opportunity to examine parts, talk to staff or watch them carry out their work. Therefore, the ideal candidate should be able to communicate at all levels.
* Participate in any Continuous Improvement and 5S activities that affects the quality or output of the product.
* Where PPE (personal protective equipment) is provided, you will be required to use it.
Carry out all activities as defined above in a timely manner to ensure the company manufacturing targets are achieved.
* You will be required to take on ad hoc duties which includes, but is not limited to, training colleagues in line with local skills matrix, department associated tasks and brief secondment to other departments.
Training is provided and the post holder will only be expected to carry out the duties described above once appropriate training has been completed and when their supervisor requires it
