Reading Town Hall is looking for exceptional casual Assistant Chefs to join

our seven day a week operation across the leading banqueting and

cultural venue in Reading. We require enthusiastic and creative people to support our Executive Chef & Sous Chef to run the busy kitchen within our prestigious Town Hall. If you have experience of multi-functional catering, are flexible and

able to multi-task then we would like to hear from you!

About the role

* You will be responsible for preparation, presentation and delivery of high quality food for Banqueting, Conferences, Weddings, Functions and our Café

* You will need to be proactive, flexible, responsive to customer demand and a great cook

* Be able to work well under direction

* A great team player, capable of delivering under pressure up to 280 covers in a banquet setting as well as coping with the lunch time demands of our café.

About you

Every day you will have a warm and friendly approach to all our customers, engaging whenever possible and proactively keeping an upbeat atmosphere and rhythm in the café & kitchen.

You will have:

* Previous experience working in a busy kitchen

* A working knowledge of Health & Safety Food Hygiene legislation.

* Experience in financial, administration & stock control

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to control costs, prevent wastage and produce good profit margins.

* Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds level 706/ 2, 706/3 or an equivalent qualification

* Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate and a working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation

* It is essential that you are able to work evenings & weekends.
