32.5 hours per week ; Monday- Friday ; 07.30am – 14.30pm

We're looking for a dedicated Assistant Cook at Cromer Academy who wants to make a difference and thrives in a challenging environment. Main responsibilities include:

To assist in the preparation, cooking and presentation of all foods served in the unit as required.
To ensure that the health and safety regulations are observed and adhered to.
Adhere to the safe and hygienic working practices.
Help lay out food for service and maintain a high standard of presentation and cleanliness during meal service.
To assist in cleaning work surfaces, equipment and any other cleaning duties as required to the kitchen cleaning schedule.
To be able to operate cash registers where applicable and understand banking procedures within the school where necessary.
Maintaining an orderly stock room, ensuring stock rotation and correct stock handling is adhered to.
To ensure that the correct procedures are used when storing chilled and frozen and ambient foods.
To have an understanding of the Vertas’ Healthy Eating Programme.
To deputise for the Head of Kitchen and have a full understanding of all aspects of the job by maintaining stock book records, signing in records, tool box.
