A company that manages a wide-ranging portfolio that includes residential and commercial properties, farming, forestry, and renewable energy initiatives.
The Role:
A fantastic opportunity has now become available for an Assistant Forester / Forestry Assistant in Surrey.
Working for a privately owned Estate consisting of residential and commercial properties, forestry, fisheries and a trout farm located in Surrey.
The Estate covers approximately 3,000 acres with around 1,500 acres of mixed woodland including commercial plantations, native broadleaves, park and heathland.
The duties will be very variable but will involve the following:
Establishment of new plantations including planting, fencing, weed control (mechanical and chemical), mechanical cleaning, respacing, brashing and early thinning's.
Manual thinning and felling of trees where required.
Use of tractor winches, swipes, and other tractor mounted equipment.
Use of firewood machines, loading and delivery of firewood.
Conservation, amenity, and environmental projects to increase biodiversity.
Compliance with all health and safety requirements.
