Location of the Job: North of England.
Salary: £25,000 – £27,000 basic salary depending on experience.
Benefits:

The Role:
A fantastic opportunity has now become available for an Assistant Forestry Manager / Forestry Assistant in the North of England.
Ideal Person/Skills/Duties:
Grant and felling applications experience.
Experienced in field surveys and tree safety inspections.
Experienced in the collection of mensuration data, volume and value estimations and product breakdown.
Knowledge in mechanised timber harvesting and marketing.
NWC, design, support mechanisms and maintenance.
Experienced in woodland management plans and digital mapping.
Knowledge of preparation and monitoring of budgets.
Experienced in programming and managing a range of contract works.
Awareness of liaison with local authorities and professional bodies to advise on matters concerning land use.
Experienced in workplace Health & Safety – responsibilities – risk assessments, procedures, and policies.
A knowledge of sawmilling and timber treatment would be desirable.
A good knowledge of common tree pests and diseases.
Clean full UK driving licence essential.
Self-motivated and capable of working unassisted and as part of a team.
Appropriate IT skills.
Forestry Diploma/Degree – desirable.
