We potentially have a role for you.

Based on the outskirts of Edinburgh and Fife, we are looking for an Assistant GM / Food and Beverage Manager or Restaurant Manager to oversee a small boutique café/restaurant.
Job Summary:

As the Assistant General Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the owner in overseeing the overall operations and performance of the restaurant. This includes ensuring excellent customer service, managing staff, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, achieving financial targets, P&L and contributing to the restaurant's overall success.

As part of a small, dedicated team, your Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service:

* Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered at all times.

* Please address any customer concerns or complaints as soon as possible.

* Regularly interact with customers to ensure their satisfaction and to build customer loyalty.

2. Staff Management:

* Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of restaurant staff.

* Supervise, motivate, and lead the team to deliver high-quality service.

* Schedule and assign tasks to staff members efficiently and fairly.

* Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to employees.

3. Operations Management:

* Assist in implementing company policies, procedures, and standards.

* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

* Monitor and maintain inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies.

* Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and service.

* Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth operations.

4. Financial Management:

* Assist in developing and implementing strategies to achieve sales and profit targets.

* Monitor and control expenses to optimise profitability.

* Prepare and analyse financial reports, including sales data, expenses, and labour costs.

* Identify opportunities to maximise revenue and minimise costs.

5. Marketing and Promotions:

* Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns.

* Identify local marketing opportunities and engage in community events or sponsorships.

* Monitor customer feedback and reviews, and take appropriate actions to drive improvement.

Qualifications:

At least three years of experience in restaurant management.
Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, including health and safety regulations.

* Excellent leadership and team management skills.

* Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Proficient in using restaurant management software and MS Office.

* Ability to handle high-stress situations and make quick decisions.

* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

You will need to have the capability and ability to help in the cover of other departments within the business.
