We are now recruiting for an assistant housekeeping manager to support our team at the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian, known locally as the “Caley”. You will be responsible in supporting the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing all housekeeping operations to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while evaluating guest satisfaction and setting department targets and objectives.

This is an iconic 5-star hotel which was built in 1903 and is one of Edinburgh’s most significant landmarks. Standing proudly at the West End of Princes Street, this former Victorian railway building hotel nestles in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle. Its reputation for style and excellence has attracted international visitors and notable personalities for over one hundred years.

This is a busy hotel that thrives on global and local leisure guests exploring the capital city. The hotel has a very strong corporate market due to extensive conference and meeting room facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise, train and work alongside all housekeeping staff to ensure all hotel rooms and public areas are cleaned to a very high standard and always in the best condition. You will liaise with the management and heads of departments to ensure all areas of the hotel are clean and tidy.

About You:

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
Excellent time management and leadership skills.
Excellent supplier relationship skills as you will be dealing with suppliers of linen, guest supplies etc.
Ensuring company policies are maintained at all times.
An exceptional eye for detail with the ability to prioritise well and keep the department running ensuring SLAs are met and exceeded.
Strong knowledge of Hotel/ Housekeeping Health and Safety legislation and be proactive in the reduction of onsite accidents.
Excellent customer focus with the ability to gain commitment from team members as well as building excellent relationships with clients, customers and team members.
Must be able to work under pressure and have strong management capability- we work to sometimes very tight deadlines.
IT literate, especially in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Housekeeping management experience within a hotel is essential.
