Our client was established with the desire to bring something new to the Belfast restaurant scene.
Overlooking the River Lagan, the establishment offers a 40-seat restaurant, with an intimate mezzanine area providing more secluded dining.
The founders use their extensive experience working in Michelin-starred restaurants to give their patrons a fantastic dining experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to join this excellent team and use your expertise to ensure customers are given the best recommendations.
You will receive 2.5 weeks off for Christmas, 1 week off for Easter, and 2 weeks off in July.
Are you the right person for the job?
Experience as a Sommelier
Extensive knowledge of different wines and which regions produce each type
Knowledge of local vineyards and wineries
Understanding of the winemaking process
Good communication skills
What will your role as an Assistant Sommelier look like?
Creating and updating the wine list in coordination with chefs and the Food and Beverage Manager
Recommending food and wine pairings
Advising guests on wines based on their personal tastes and food choices
Ensure wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware
Store open bottles properly to maintain a strong taste
Manage the wine cellar and ensure is fully-stocked
Train waiting staff on available wines
Comply with all health and safety regulations
