Love Brownies is a rapidly growing chocolate brownie business based in Yorkshire with cafés and shops across the UK. We have an exciting new opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to join our growing business. 

We are looking to employ a Bakery/Production Manager to manage various aspects of the bakery production. You will need to have had previous experience working in and managing a bakery or food production facility.

Our Production Manager will take full accountability for the production unit and the management of our happy and positive team of 20-40 staff. They will ensure our customers receive high quality & inspiring products, whilst supporting the team to operate in a safe, clean, efficient food-safety environment.

Due to the fast-paced nature of our expanding company, we require a proven track record of strong communication skills, the ability to problem solve, along with experience of food safety systems and procedures. It is essential that the successful candidate has a great work ethic, a can-do attitude and enjoys facing challenges with drive, energy, focus and humour.

This role requires someone who can be versatile and hands-on as an active member of the production team which will include covering holidays, sick days and support in peak seasons.

The Production Manager will also need to be comfortable attending management meetings and have accountability for the functionality of the production unit along with costings and margins.

Reliability is a key attribute for this role, as is consistency under pressure and the huge ability to multitask.

Main role responsibilities:

Managing the Production Team including rotas and holidays
Managing Shift Supervisors
Accountability for Deadlines
Planning Workflow with Office & Logistics Manager
Managing Healthy and Safety of the Workplace
Responsibility for implementing/maintaining our SALSA certification and associated policies and procedures.
Conduction of factory audits and equipment/fabrication checks in accordance with our procedures
Investigating and resolving non-conformances and customer complaints
Maintaining ingredient and finished product specifications, recipes etc and ensuring products are compliant
Ensuring quality standards are maintained and implement a programme of continuous improvement
Understanding of food legislation, in particular legal labelling and nutrition requirements
Working closely with other managers to ensure smooth running of the bakery
Ensure that all day-to-day operational paperwork is updated
Ensure unity between Production and Dispatch is maintained
Overall responsibility for Margins and Wastage
Stock Control and raising Purchase Orders
Evolving Systems and actively making systems more efficient
Interview and trial potential recruits
Training new recruits/overseeing training sessions
Skills and Experience:

Have a management style that can lead a team ‘from within’ and demonstrate a hands-on approach.
Work cleanly and efficiently maintaining high standards
Prepare and bake all bakery items following standardised Company recipes
Has a positive approach and contribute to the happy environment
Excellent planning, analytical & organizational skills
Strong leadership and communication skills (both Verbal & Written)
Ability to interact with all levels of business
