Broadcast Delivery Engineer
Our client, a large international Broadcast and Media company, are seeking a Playout focused Broadcast Delivery Engineer to join their team. This role would be on a contract basis (inside IR35) working from their office in London and offers a competitive day rate on a contract running until March 2024 (with opportunity for extension) This role would be ideal for someone with experience delivering within the Playout domain who is looking to work on several large-scale projects for household names within a prestigious company.
The Broadcast Delivery Engineer would be responsible for:
Cooperating with other technical staff in delivering agreed configuration changes or fixes
Ensuring technologies are supported with good monitoring tools and clear documentation
Contributing to the design of new systems within area of expertise
Completing project implementation tasks as assigned by a Project or Technical Manager
Helping lead small technical projects, eg hardware refresh of existing systems/system improvements when required
Maintaining accurate records of system configuration and other associated documentation
We would welcome applicants with the following skills and experience:
Solid understanding of different database and networking technologies including the following:
GV automation and playout systems (Morpheus and ICE)
Skyline Dataminer DMS
IP video (SMPTE 2022-6/2110)
MediaProxy
Knowledge of communication and IT systems related to the Broadcast environment alongside A/V equipment, editing and production systems
A good understanding of UNIX / Linux Operating Systems and Microsoft Operating Systems
Ability to work as an effective member of a team, but also capable of carrying out tasks unsupervised
Customer service focused mindset – able to see systems and tools as a service solution rather than just components
