CAD Designer

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Design Draughtsperson has arisen to work for our well established Engineering client, this is a chance for an experienced or Junior CAD Designer to join a reputable successful company that continue to grow and develop. The succesful CAD Designer will have worked with 3D Solidworks or Inventor/Autodesk software and ideally have experience in:-
* Food machinery design
* Hygienic food-safe solutions
* Fabrication processes
* CE marking, machinery directive and guarding requirements
* Conversant with 2D & 3D
The Role
The CAD Designer will work under thier own initiative, with support from our close-knit Project Engineering team, fulfilling "inception to completion" design and draughting requirements for food processing lines.
The CAD Designer will develop models and fabrication drawings. Sheet-metal formations and structural steelwork. Working to and delivering highly hygienic (food safe) design standards.
Delivering the wider project needs includes:-
* Site survey of operating areas
* Steelwork design, load bearing calculations, fabrication drawings.
* Access walkways and staircase design and fabrication drawings.
* Documented risk assessments for the specific solutions and the interacting layout.
* Process layout refinement and design of interconnecting transfer chutes etc.
* Identify foot-loadings for interaction with construction companies.
* Identify utility connection points for the process layout.
* Receive "as installed" layouts from the installing engineer and update as necessary.
Candidate (minimum) Attributes
3D SolidWorks trained and competent – industrial fabrication drawings
Previous experience in equipment & steelwork design and fabrication techniques
Minimum 3 years industrial experience
HNC / HND qualification in engineering
Dynamic, enthusiastic and flexible approach
Willing to travel (occasional need for UK and foreign site surveys)
Commercial awareness applied to designing – value engineering approach
Excellent people skills and clear communicator with the ability to form strong team bonds
Computer literate with working knowledge of the following:-
SolidWorks (Weldments, sheet-metal, part modelling, piping, stress analysis)
AutoCAD
