Catering Assistant (Enhanced DBS required)
We are recruiting a dedicated School Catering Assistant, to work within a friendly, together team to provide service to the school ordering, preparing, and cooking meals to meet mandatory Nutritional Standard, alongside day-to-day management of the catering provision. Responsible for supporting the operation of an efficient catering department.
Date of enrolment will take place on 15th June 2023, with a guaranteed placement until the end of term, with possible room for extension thereafter.
Hours of work and Pay Rate:
Days of work: Monday to Friday
Hours of work: 09:00-15:00 (Inclusive of breaks)
Rate of pay: £13.50 per hour
Responsibilities of a School Caterer include:
* Ordering quantities of food in line with meal number, menu planning and portion control
* Management and control of food costs within the given budget listed.
* Preparing and cooking food according to the pre-planned menus
* Ensuring all relevant clerical work is received in the office to meet deadlines.
* Organisation of food service to include dining arrangements, and events.
* Setting up of morning breaks, tuck shops and additional services requested.
* Preparing and cooking food in accordance with food safety regulations and HACCP
* Observe and adhere to all Policies, Procedures and Regulations.
* Other duties required by management to fulfil catering duties.
Essential Knowledge/Qualifications:
NVQ Levels 1 & 2 pr equivalent In catering
Basic Food Hygiene
Experience required:
3 years’ experience in catering environment
School catering experience
