Catering Assistant

Aligra is recruiting for Catering Assistants on behalf of our client based in Lincoln. As a Catering Assistant, you will be responsible for carrying out catering services and enabling the catering operation to provide food and beverage provisions to the Service Users.
Key Responsibilities:
· To support the Catering Manager and Catering team in the delivery of catering services to the whole establishment, complying with all relevant Health & Safety and Food Safety Regulations, legislation, and company guidelines & operational procedures.
· Assist in providing varied and healthy meals for Service Users. This will include catering for special diets as well as religious events by working in all areas such as general cleaning, basic food preparation, and production.
· To ensure that food products are stored and distributed safely once delivered.
· Record and document all relevant paperwork to comply with food hygiene regulations, Health & Safety, HACCP, and Company Policies.
· Working alongside the Catering team to respond and act upon any complaints or issues.
· To undertake any Food Safety & Hygiene training or any other relevant training as per the request of the Catering Manager
Shifts & Pay:
4 on 4 off rotation, 7:30am to 7:30pm.
£11.30 per hour
Requirements:
* Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent GCSE
* Awareness of Food Safety, HACCP & Allergen Control within Catering
*Level 2 Qualification in Food Safety & HACCP required to be completed during initial probation period.
*Level 2 Qualification in Allergens in Catering required to be completed during initial probation period.
*Level 2 Qualification in First Aid at Work required to be completed during initial probation period.
* Understanding of working in a socially diverse environment, along with a good team ethic.
* Basic working knowledge of a commercial kitchen environment.
* Good interpersonal skills, including good oral and written communication.
* Excellent time management.
Desirable Experience, Skills & Competencies:
* Basic computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office package
* A basic understanding of conflict resolution and de-escalation
* Good problem solving skills & the ability to work under pressure
