A unique opportunity to lead a modern operation in a newly refurbished site. The ideal Catering / Chef Manager will manage catering for hundreds of students in a freshly refitted, modern kitchen.
Requirements:
As the Catering / Chef Manager, you'll be required to generally manage and oversee the provision of catering services within an agreed budget within the existing and proposed schools.
To ensure a prompt and professional response to any reasonable school request.
To respect and ensure staff respect the school's rules, maintaining operational standards at all times.
In-date enhanced DBS required.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
As the Catering / Chef Manager, your daily responsibilities include and are not limited to:
To ensure the offer of nutritionally analysed menus that are carefully prepared and appropriate in balance colour, content, style and cost
To provide pupils, staff and guests with good quality wholesome meals and snacks
To ensure staffing levels are adequate to cover the required workload and within budgeted constraints.
To complete all food safety and hygiene records in accordance with the organisations Food Safety Policy (HACCP)
To measure Catering staff are all working effectively through a process of regular supervision
To organise and or provide training according to the training plan
To comply with all policies
To be responsible for the financial performance of the whole catering operation – within a set operating budget
To ensure that all operations are compliant with legislation
To liaise with relevant SMLT to achieve operational objectives
To help raise the profile of nutritious school food with the pupils and carers
To be responsible for motivating the departmental managers; inducting, training, supporting, organising and delegating.
To ensure the team work to the highest of standards with regard quality of work, hygiene, health and safety; & customer service.
To hold weekly team meetings with the purpose of ensuring operational objectives and targets are progressed and met.
To ensure that all staff are presentable, professional and representing the image of the school at all times.
To ensure all appropriate information is communicated and cascaded to the teams.
To complete half termly staff supervisions to identify.
To complete any training sessions
Budgets:
As the Catering / Chef Manager, your budgetary responsibilities include:
To ensure all meals are served according to the recipes and budget provided
To ensure that the stock and cash are accurately recorded daily and kept within agreed financial targets to control and monitor all arrears of expense to ensure achievement of the budget
To ensure procedures for accurate receiving, appropriate storing and security of all goods are in operation
To spot check finance/control procedures periodically
To assist in the monthly finance reporting to the School
To ensure payroll reflects budget
To complete any other reasonable task as requested by the management team
