Salary : £40000 – £50000/annum

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Catering Manager to join the catering department of a local award winning healthcare provider & help support existing (& develop some new) working practices to ensure the continued success of the department.

The successful applicant will have a strong back ground in catering or retail and be synonymous with delivering results whilst maintaining quality standards.

Duties will include but will not be limited to:

* Managing the day to day responsibility for the operational management of contracted services for the Catering department.

* To participate in the development of a marketing and catering strategy and the implementation of initiatives and goals seeing them through to a successful conclusion. As the Catering Manager you will be the food expert on site and will manage the communication strategies in partnership with site stakeholders

* To ensure that the Catering Department deliver the service of food to all departments and wards throughout the Trust ensuring that patient experience meets expectations and agreed standards

* To Maintain relationships with key stakeholders , ensuring any opportunities to develop the current food service are delivered and instigated whilst ensuring that budget control is maintained

* To lead a professionally managed catering services operations and ensure service delivery is of a high quality with an emphasis on standards and the patient experience

* To assist in managing the allocation of the operational budgets to meet the requirements of the organisation on both revenue and capital costs

* To manage a professional internal relationships and communication strategy, attending meetings with Trust stakeholders as required.

* To adopt a process of continual development and improvement for the catering department which result in either, improved service, increased sales and reduce costs business

* To assist with People management, including development and close management of any Employee Relation issues.

* To manage a senior management team. Motivate, mentor and encourage by setting clear financial targets based on area of responsibility budgets that are achievable and measurable.

* Support the transition of any new service/s that will form part of working synergies to enhance patient experience

* To Ensure compliance of financial Governance requirements and reporting procedures

* To Ensure efficient and economic use of labour without premium rate overtime or spikes in annual leave

* To Managing supplier relationships with the support of organisational frameworks

* To Ensure labour management targets are met

* To Ensure that all financial targets are achieved within a framework of absolute financial control

* Drive sales and increase income within the staff and visitors dining room and the hospitality within the organisation. To support the growth of additional services.

* To ensure that all budgets are managed ,controlled and stay within budget plan

* To Deliver budgeted profit and turnover for portfolio and accounts as agreed with line manager

* To Support business development of existing business in conjunction with the trust strategy.

* To ensure high levels of customer satisfaction are monitored, measured and managed through the monthly surveys. Report on performance through the organisational contract management process.

* To Manage Trust stakeholders proactively, ensuring their expectations are exceeded, and effectively communicate all business opportunities to SMT (senior management team)

* To lead on the recruitment of all catering staff , ensuring personal development, reward and recognition, appraisals, health & safety, and communication of shared goals

* To ensure that Health & Safety policy is adhered to and that all Catering staff are aware of the policy and their responsibility for its implementation

* To provide monthly reports on the performance of the catering services which will feed into the key performance indicators (KPI) contract management group.

Qualifications

* A degree in relevant qualifications and or equivalent experience

* Level 4 in Food Safety

NEBOSH general certificate
