Salary : £10.76/hour

Seven Resourcing is working with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council to recruit a Catering Manager.

This is based at Streetsbrook Infant and Early Years Academy.

Initial 3 month contract with the potential of extension.

YOU MUST HAVE UK EXPERIENCE. THE CLIENT CANNOT TAKE ANYONE ON USING A VISA.

Job Purpose:

To prepare and cook meals that are well presented, balanced and nutritious including any catering to any special dietary needs.

Duties:

· To ensure compliance with all regulatory and good practice requirements including Food Hygiene, Health and Safety, ensuring all kitchen and catering staff adhere to related policies and procedures

· Ensure that all food is handled safely, stored at the correct temperatures as detailed in the Assured Safe Catering system.

· To complete documentation relating to the Assured Safe Catering Systems, e.g. recording of food temperatures during cooking and serving of food, recording of food on delivery, recording temperature of hot hold and cold holding equipment.

· Order stock from suppliers and keep records.

· To ensure stock control and rotation of provisions in line with requirements.

· To ensure that budget limits are maintained when planning menus and to ensure sufficient stores are kept.

· To maintain accurate records that comply with financial procedures.

· To maintain a high standard of cleanliness/hygiene in all areas of the kitchen dining area and equipment which meet Food Safety Standards.

· Provide supervision to the catering assistants.

· Provide support to a trainee Kitchen domestic with their role providing some guidance as required.

· Communicate with people who have disabilities and understand and dietary needs

· Operate a till and handle cash on a daily basis.

· To serve meals at appropriate times including drinks and snacks.

· Direct, coach and supervise the work of the catering team

· Assist when necessary in any or all of the cleaning duties carried out to maintain the high standard of cleanliness required.

· To maintain professional attitude and approach to work.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications: Relevant Qualification.
Experience: 2+ years Catering experience and preferably as a Catering Manager previously.
Compliance: Up to date Passport and DBS.
Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
Hours: 37 hours p/w.
