This role and contract sit within our Facilities Management sector of G4S where we aim to improve the lives of people across the UK and Ireland by creating productive, safe and smooth working environments.

We are actively seeking to recruit a Catering Supervisor to join our team at Royal Wootton Bassett Academy, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN4 7HG.

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 7:00 – 1:45 pm.

Job Summary:

As Catering Supervisor, you will supervise a small team responsible for providing a catering and food service to the school. Your role will also include serving, cleaning, ordering, stock taking and training.

You will have an awareness of health and food safety standards and will maintain service delivery at all times.

Other Key Responsibilities will include:

Supervision of staff to ensure timely completion and preparation for service periods.

Motivate the team to drive forward high standards of preparation and service delivery and sales.

Ensure the proper and economical use of all materials and equipment and appropriate portion control is implemented at all times.

Work in conjunction with the Catering Manager to assist with the development and monitoring of standards and good working practices.

Daily checking and recording of fridge & freezer temperatures in all areas.

Checking expiry dates of stocks in refrigerators & dry store.

Assist with the preparation of hot & cold food, bakery & snack items.

Daily preparation of items on the menu as directed by the catering manager.

Operation of tills and use of cashless catering, for which training will be provided.

Cashing up of tills or loaders and collation of information for Catering Manager.

Daily Cleaning of kitchen and restaurant areas to agreed policies and standards to reach all food hygiene and health and safety standards.

Essential Criteria:

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work as part of a team and work under pressure on occasions.

Awareness of basic food safety.

Ability to supervise and delegate tasks as required.

North Wiltshire Schools is spread over three school sites and you may be asked to work at another site if the need arises to which we will reimburse travel expenses.

Full training and also uniform will be provided.
