Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our team at a nursing home in Cheshire. As a nursing home chef, you will play a vital role in providing nutritious and appetizing meals to our residents. This position offers flexible working hours, consisting of two 11-hour shifts on any days that suit you.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of meals, catering to the specific dietary requirements of nursing home residents.
Ensure the highest standards of food quality and taste, while meeting hygiene and safety regulations.
Collaborate with the care team to understand and implement individual residents' dietary needs.
Plan and organize menus in consultation with residents, considering their food preferences and any special dietary restrictions.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of food and kitchen supplies, placing orders as required.
Adhere to established budgets and cost control measures to ensure efficiency in the kitchen.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following proper sanitation and food storage practices.
Train and manage kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to food safety and hygiene guidelines.
Stay updated with current food trends, recipes, and nutritional standards to introduce new and exciting menu options.
Foster a positive and inclusive working environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Chef, preferably in a nursing home, hotel, or similar food service environment.
Excellent culinary skills and a passion for preparing delicious and nutritious meals.
Knowledge of dietary requirements and the ability to adapt recipes to cater to specific needs.
Understanding of food safety regulations and adherence to health and safety protocols.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively within a busy kitchen environment.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and motivate kitchen staff.
Flexibility to work any days that suit you, including weekends and holidays.
Basic computer literacy for menu planning and ordering purposes.
