A busy hotel located in the centre of Carnforth with a great location for access to public transport.
The hotel has four bars, one in the Junction bar (40 Covers), second one in the “tapas” bar (35 covers) The Mallard Restaurant (30 Covers) and a fourth one in the Function suite. The Function suite caters for up to 150 covers and has an extended roof terrace.
We also have a private dining room (12 covers)
The whole hotel has already been renovated to a premium standard and proved to be very popular for meals out. We currently run a similar menu across the 3 restaurants but there is lots of scope for this to change.
Working in our main Production Kitchen we are ideally looking for a Chef who is comfortable working on all sections.
As restrictions are slowly but surely easing we are looking to the future to anticipate any increased demand and expand our team accordingly. There’s great potential here, not just for the right candidate but for where the hotel is headed in the future.
What we require from you:
* Assist the head chef with the efficient & effective running of the kitchen.
The right Chef will be passionate about FRESH, modern food and will be comfortable across a number of styles of cuisine. We are a busy pub/ Restaurant so the successful candidate will need to be able to work calmly under pressure.
* You must have a keen eye for detail whilst delivering high standards. It is important that the successful candidate comes with a positive 'can do' attitude and Consistency is KEY.
* You must have relevant culinary qualifications
* Be in possession of a current Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above).
* A full understanding of allergens & catering for dietary requirements is also essential.
* The ability to work a variety of shifts with a flexible approach to working hours to suit the needs of the business.
Our Food Service times are from 7am until 9 pm
The daily role
* Work breakfast, lunch and evening shifts
* Assist the Head Chef with the preparation of fresh foods for all sections of the kitchen
* Deputise on the Head Chefs days off
* Prepare, cook and serve our very popular Sunday roast dinners
* A flair for desserts would be an advantage
* Running the pass, plating and presenting dishes
* Cleaning and organising to meet the current hygiene laws and company policies
* Creating, costing and producing new menu dishes
* Creating costing and producing specials
