Our client has an activity holiday centre that enables people with disabilities to achieve their potential through the challenge of adventurous activities. The site offers fantastic facilities and for the comfort and enjoyment of their guests, they prepare three home-cooked meals a day. Working closely with the visitors can be hugely rewarding and they take particular care to deliver high standards even when catering for a variety of special dietary requirements.

The successful Chef will have a keen sense of quality and excellence to ensure all cooking is carried out to a high standard.

Whilst you will be part of a team, you will be able to work independently as required and maintain a high standard of cooking.

No day is the same so you will need to have a flexible and enthusiastic attitude to work and be able to deal with issues under pressure.

It is essential that you have your own transport and can work on a rota basis which would include every other weekend.

The specifics

Chef – Hourly Rate between £10.00 and £12.00 per hour (can be paid as salary if required )

Chef – Hours of work: 40.25 hours per week.

Key responsibilities for the Chef:

• daily operations in the kitchen.

• Liaising with suppliers for food orders.

• Cooking to a high standard

• Working within the kitchen budget.

• Ensuring compliance to food safety working within current guidance.

Chef Key Skills:

• Excellent cooking skills.

• Understanding of produce and ingredients.

• Awareness of food allergens and special dietary requirements.

• Effective communications skills.

• Excellent customer service.

• Ability to prioritise effectively.

• Calm under pressure.

Desirable Qualifications for the Chef:

• Food safety level 2 or above.
