Broadclyst Community Primary School (Cornerstone Academy Trust)
We are looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Chef to manage the in-house dining service at Broadclyst Community Primary School. Our well-renowned dining service also provides meals for Westclyst, Monkerton, Yeo Valley and Clyst St Mary Primary Schools’ pupils. You will be supporting the Head Chef and catering team to provide high-quality meals which currently caters for about 400 pupils and staff daily.
The successful candidate will need to be experienced and capable in catering for large numbers within tight budgets and so will need to flexible, reliable and creative. We would like to employ someone who enjoys good food and will embrace the school’s aim to deliver a ‘family dining’ experience, with nice, home cooked, seasonal food served to the table. Ideally, we wish to employ someone who can also demonstrate skills in baking cakes and treats for the coffee shop service.
This is a permanent position with a 9-month probationary period. The post is Monday to Friday, for 45 hours per week for 40 weeks a year (term time plus 2 weeks; enabling the Chef to partake in some staff training and to prepare for the upcoming half terms). The day begins at 8.00am and finishes at 5.30pm. There is a 30-minute break during the day.
Visits to the school are welcome by prior arrangement.
