Our client now has a role available for a Chef / Catering Supervisor to join their fantastic Kitchen Team!

The role

As a not-for-profit housing organisation they provide a comprehensive range of services to over 6,000 homes, and the four extra care schemes within the group deliver on site catering and hospitality service to a diverse range of customers.

Within this position, you will support the Chef Manager in leading and motivating the onsite catering team to deliver the catering and hospitality service at their extra care schemes ensuring they deliver an efficient and cohesive catering and hospitality service across the group.

You will be responsible for the front-line delivery of brand standards from food preparation, cooking and service delivery taking in to account the nutritional needs of older people and those with individual dietary requirements.

You will monitor costs, rotas, waste management, and equipment plus you will support and assist in the delivery of the company’s food safety management system (HACCP), ensuring temperature control records and food labelling are complied with.

About you

They are looking for a Chef / Catering Supervisor with demonstrable experience of working within the catering industry and supervising a frontline team.

You will have:

· An understanding of budget and financial control methods

· Knowledge of commercial kitchen operations

· Knowledge of healthy eating principles

· The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

· The ability to understand and manage possible conflicting needs and wishes of residents

· Experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Required Qualifications:

· NVQ level 3 in Professional Cookery

· CIEH Level 2 Certificate or higher in Food Hygiene
