We are currently recruiting a Cook / Chef to work as part of our catering team, creating meals and cooking meals for residents and colleagues at Oakhurst Lodge in Ashurst, Southampton.

Monday to Friday – flexible shifts between the times of 8 am and 6 pm

Chef/Cook ( Care service) – *Circa £30,(Apply online only) per annum and excellent benefits

The service is an 8-bed specialist care home supporting adults over the age of 18 with Autism and Behaviour Challenges located in Ashurst (SO40 7AW) within a 10-minute walk of Ashurst Station

You’ll be working 37.5 hours a week, including alternate weekends, with the earliest shift starting at 8 am and the latest shift finishing at 6.00 pm, covering Monday to Friday with very occasional weekends

creating an excellent experience for the people in our care. 

The ideal candidate will preferably have experience in a Cook/ Chef role from the care sector, but this is not essential.

Qualifications/ certificates within cookery/ catering or food and hygiene      
Experience in creating menus within an available budget
A basic understanding of different dietary requirements and calorie-controlled meals
You will ideally have experience within a similar setting (e.g. care home, school or hospital)
Previous experience ordering/placing food orders and checking stock and dates

Up to £13.00 Per Hour, Full Pay Review after 12 months.
