School Cook – (Part-time) – €14 per hour – Finglas, Dublin
The Role
We are looking for a passionate, creative, and experienced chef to join our team! We are a busy and friendly childcare service in need of a part-time cook to help us serve delicious, nutritious meals between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
You will be responsible for food preparation, production, presentation and service; as well as ensuring that all HACCP records are kept up to date. We need somebody who can think on their feet, be creative with menu planning and have a flair for presentation. You must have at least 2 years’ catering experience, an understanding of the nutritional needs of babies and children up to 12 years and the ability to work as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of a School Cook include, but are not limited to:
* Food preparation.
* Food production
* Ensuring the production, presentation & service of food is to a high standard.
* Maintaining HACCP records.
* Serving and storing meals in an appropriate manner.
* Receiving food deliveries to the kitchen and maintain accurate records of same.
* Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen & dining room to ensure both areas are left clean before finishing duty each day.

The Person
The key skills and qualities of a School Cook are:
* At least 2 years catering experience (to include cooking for a large number of clients).
* Training to HACCP standard.
* An ability to work as part of a team.
* Understanding of the nutritional needs of babies and children up to 12 years.
* Knowledge of menu planning.
* The ability to use your initiative and be able to anticipate the kitchen needs.
* To cater for events outside of normal working hours when required
