Daily duties are likely to involve:-
Working with the Sous Chef to maintain standards set by organisation
To ensure that all working areas are always kept clean and tidy
Prepare, cook and serve food as specified by the Head Chef and to ensure that the food meets the appropriate specification.
Assist the sous chef to supervise the Commis Chefs in all food preparation and food production in kitchens.
Assist the Head Chef in ensuring HACCP is in place to ensure due diligence in preventing an outbreak of food poisoning. Follows good preservation standards for the proper handling of all food products at the right temperature
Able to estimate the daily production needs and checking the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
Need to be able to assist the sous chef on planning, organisational and time management.
Accepting deliveries, care must be taken to check off items against the delivery note and the original order and to only accept items if they are of the correct quality and standard.
To assist in food ordering by informing the Head Chef when stocks are reaching par stock levels.
Ensure good communication throughout the kitchen department at all times.
Set an example to others for personal hygiene and cleanliness on and off duty.
Working 37 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. Shifts patterns are typically 06:00-14:00, 07:00-15:00, 14:00-22:00.
