Chef Manager (Bristol)

GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a market leading contract catering company who specialise in food for the education sector.
We are recruiting for a Chef Manager to oversee all catering operations and activities in within a thriving primary school located in Bristol.
Working hours are school term time only, so you will not be working when the pupils are off school. That's between 13 and 15 weeks of holiday off work per year!
Monday to Friday only – Daytime hours only and offering a salary of £26,000.
You will have full operational and financial responsibility for the catering facility, cooking around 250 meals per day, you will be focusing on delivering the highest quality of food and service as well as having the flair, originality and the ability to make this one of the best education catering offers in the area.
Chef Manager main Duties:
* Leading, developing, coaching, training, and motivating the team in your kitchen
* Having full control of the catering operation including stock, food, and labour costs
* Ensuring consistency of food and service standards delivered to the students and staff
* Driving sales through monthly promotions and added value events
* Managing and improving all controllable costs
* Overseeing menu development
* Maintaining company systems & procedures, and legislation
* Carrying out regular audits to ensure standards are being met
Chef Manager required skills and experience:
* Craft based experience using fresh ingredients
* Knowledge of health and safety practises
* Financial understanding of gross profit management and achieving sales targets
* Line management experience
* Experience within a similar chef/cooking environment
