Job Type : Temporary, Full Time

Salary : £11.50 – £12/hour

A temporary to permanent vacancy has arisen for CHEF SUPERVISOR and a temporary ongoing vacancy, with possibility to become permanent, for a CHEF de PARTIE in Nottingham NG6 area.

Working 5 days over 7 in a rota

Early shift: 6.30am till 2.30pm

Late shift: 10am till 6pm

Chef de partie must have Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2

Chef supervisor job description:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational

*

Prepare food for delivery of food trolleys to units.

*

Carry out any reasonable instruction of the management.

*

Step up to Head Chef when required.

*

When required check all incoming purchases as ordered, for quantity and quality.

*

Identify training needs and action as appropriate.

*

Ensure knowledge of the operation of any kitchen equipment you are required to use, and apply accordingly utilising all safety measures.

*

Produce within the component standards food required for the days menu.

*

Ensure food, as per menu, is available for service times and is portioned and garnished.

*

Replenish where necessary.

*

Assist with mis-en-place for the following days menu.

*

Assist, where necessary, in food preparation for any functions.

*

Discuss the next day’s menu with Head Chef.

*

Assist where necessary, in cleaning of work surfaces, storage areas, utensils and equipment.

*

Maintain component hygiene standards, within the main catering areas and monitor clients servery areas by completing servery check lists.

*

Follow company or component policy in dealing with customer comments or complaints

*

Comply with Health & Safety Regulations, Fire policy and report hazards to management

PERSONAL

Ensure that clothing including footwear and headgear, and personal hygiene is of the highest standards at all times.

GENERAL

Participate in company training to improve your standards of performance.

Suggest areas of improvement and take any corrective action as required.

Perform any other duties that may reasonably be required

A Job retention bonus of one weeks salary will be paid when complete your initial 3 month probation and stay employed for a minimum 6 months.

* Skills / qualifications:NVQ Professional cookery 2 and 3, Or City and Guilds 706 1 & 2, Health & safety, Intermediate food Hygiene

* Tools:none, Uniform provided once full time, Uniform laudered on site

* Additional H&S:Experience working within NHS enviroment or similar, Previous supervisory experience, Previous kitchen managemt skills, Ability to produce menus, computer literate
