Cook – The Lister Project

Permanent – 37 hours per week (shift based)

The Lister Project is a warm and inviting home for customers who have enduring mental health issues. Customers have the independence, security and privacy of their own home, with all support needed during your recovery.

The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a cook to work within a caring, friendly team, with wonderful residents as we transition to become a more Recovery focused service. For our perfect candidate we are offering the following:

* Working Hours:37 hours per week on a two-week rolling rota:

* 5 days one week (Mon-Fri – 10am-6pm)

* 5 days the next working week (3 midweek days 10-6pm and Sat/Sunday weekend shift – 8 – 2pm (working one weekend in every two),

The main purpose of the role:

* To prepare, cook and serve healthy nutritious food – Lunch and Dinner for up to 25 residents.

* To order goods to be used in the kitchen and to operate the stock control.

* To work in accordance with and maintain health and safety procedures.

* To clean all areas of the kitchen and assist in domestic chores.

* To liaise with the other cook and Registered Manager to ensure a coordinated approach is maintained.

* To involve residents in menu choices and the preparation of food where appropriate.

Who you are:

* Have previous experience or the ability to follow and plan menu’s working within a set budget.

* Experience of or ability to co-ordinate stock controls and the ordering of food.

* Knowledge / training in food hygiene.

* Knowledge / training in health and safety within the kitchen.

* Experience of or understanding of providing foods for people with specific dietary needs.
