On behalf of a lovely small Care Home in Ramsey, Harwich, Pure Care are currently seeking a friendly and dedicated Cook or Chef to join their team on a permanent contract.

This is a full time, permanent Cook position working 7:30am-7pm shifts for 3 days per week, 13 shifts per month. This pays £23,000+ per annum and the core responsibilities will be to deliver high quality, home cooked meals working in an extremely rewarding setting.
This role is working in a fantastic 30 bedded step down care unit that has a great reputation in the local area. The successful Cook candidate will ideally have a valid Food Hygiene Certificate or similar, and previous experience of working in a Care Home, School or similar environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
A good understanding of Health and Safety and COSHH guidelines is required within the Cook role. Formal Chef training is not necessary as the home are more looking for a friendly and dedicated individual who can cook traditional and nutritious meals from fresh.

Care Home Cook / Chef Main Duties:
* Responsible for the catering services within the Home on the days you are working
* Cook using fresh ingredients made from scratch as much as possible
* Prepare nutritious meals, paying particular attention to any special dietary requirements
* Have a full understanding of Health & Safety as well as Food Hygiene issues, COSHH, and working within the guidelines relating to cross infection
