Cooks Supervisor
Job Type : Permanent, Temporary, Full Time
Salary : £10 – £11/hour
My client is well recognised Church of England Academy in Bradford with a variety of students ranging from the ages 2-18. Ofsted recognised them as a “Good” School in both 2013 and 2017 with staff benefitting from support, challenge and investment. They understand how valuable their staff team are and strive to give them all the tools they need to excel in their chosen field.
They are hiring for the role in their Kitchen to include a Cooks Supervisor to start as soon as possible. The roles will consist of:
* To assist in the preparation and cooking of the food to the required standards in a timeous manner.
* Completion of all relevant bookwork, and ordering of goods
* To follow guidelines on portion sizes and products to produce good quality food within the budgetary, government and religious requirements
* Ability to follow and devise menus, working to strict budgetary guidelines
* Ability to work as part of a team structure and to step up into the manager’s role as and when required
Skills:
* Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with both customers and colleagues at all levels of seniority and liaise effectively with other internal departments.
* Good interpersonal and customer facing skills, able to empathise, maintain professionalism, display patience and politeness within a pressurised environment
* Confidence to deal with difficult situations and to know when appropriate to seek guidance from line manager with attention to detail and working knowledge of products and standards.
* Confidentiality and discretion when dealing with customers and children.
* The ability to take requests from a board and serve the required items in the appropriate manner, with the consistent level of service within a timeously manner achieving the desired outcomes.
This role is temporary for the initial 12 weeks but they will go to permanent for the right candidates
