About the role:

We are looking to build a bank of freelancers to support our in-house creative agency deliver exceptional work on time and to brief. Our bank of freelancers will bolster our in-house expertise and work with us when our team is at capacity or doesn’t have the technical skill to meet a brief.  

One of the roles that we’re looking for is a creative Copywriter who can help to bring our brand to life through great content that will inspire, engage, and motivate our customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.

The copywriter will:

• Write clear and concise copy for all formats including print, web, and social media, working closely with the team to brainstorm ideas, create concepts and develop messaging.

• Work closely with the team to deliver a consistent brand identity, making sure all our copy lives up to the Wonderful on Tap brand.

• Work closely with the team to produce our annual corporate reports that communicate business strategy, objectives, and results/achievements.

Key Accountabilities

• Inspire, engage and motivate through brilliantly written communications across all media channels. 

• Ensure all messages are intuitive and user-led, to improve engagement, drive action and increase brand advocacy.

• Ensure all copy developed is relevant, compelling, compliant and consistent – across channels and across the customer journey.

• Continually raise the bar on creativity, writing fresh copy that connects with the audience and drives action.

• Live and breathe brand guidelines and brand voice for consistency in messaging.

• Pro-actively stay up to date with content and copywriting best practice to help inform future execution.

• Edit and proofread copy as needed.

• Work closely with creative/production/digital agency partners where required, to develop best in class creative solutions that are fully aligned with the brand identity.

• Seek continual improvement in the quality of communications ensuring materials are regularly reviewed.

Experience:

• An excellent portfolio to showcase your copywriting talent.

• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.

• Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines.

• The ability to build strong collaborative relationships.

• Excellent time-management and organisational skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times.

• Strategic and customer-centric thinking with empathy for the audience.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

• Confident user of the Microsoft Office Package – particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• Experience of working to brand guidelines.

• Knowledge or experience of the water sector, utilities or operational businesses is a plus but not essential.

• Social media or content marketing experience a plus but not essential.

• Experience of corporate report writing a plus but not essential.

• A degree in journalism, English, communications, or related discipline or relevant working experience a plus but not essential
