Crop Diagnostics Technical Assistant
Job Type : Temporary, Full Time
Salary : £21500 – £24000/annum
At STEM Recruitment Solutions we are working with our client who are looking to recruit a Crop Diagnostics Technical Assistant based in Edinburgh.
3 months temporary contract – could be extended
Duties will include:
• Assist with soil sample processing, preparation and planting.
• Glasshouse duties: watering of plants.
• Organic matter and debris extraction from soil to recover nematodes and preparation of samples for nematode counts.
Requirements:
• Plant Biology or equivalent to HND level or higher.
• Ability to communicate well, both verbally and written.
• Good at handling and preparation of soil material for testing.
• Experience of working across laboratory, glasshouse and/or field environment.
• Crop growth and development.
• Soil biology and chemistry.
• Nematode and insect pests.
