Salary : £43000 – £45000/annum overtime and company benefits

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for a permanent mechnically bias Technician who ideally has expeirnece of working on diesel engines, vehicles or generators to work in Somerset on classic Locomotive and Freight vehicles. This company will rewards you with a fantastic trainging package, a healthy bases salary and lot of options for overtime and enhancements to your basic salary.

Shepton Mallet area

Role and Responsibilities:

Maintain, service, fault find and repair locomotives in accordance with the approved maintenance plans.
Ensure the Asset Management system and relevant paperwork is completed on time and to the company ‘expected standard’.
Participate in all relevant training and competency assessments that the post holder is nominated to complete.
The Candidate

You will be a team player, who can quickly develop strong working relationships with colleagues, but also self-motivated and able to take ownership and responsibility for your own work.
You will be adaptable to an ever changing envioronment.
You will be flexible to working shifts, as this will be a requirement of the role.
The ideal candidate will have experience within a rail or heavy vehicle or plant engineering background and be skilled in various maintenance activities.
Essentials

In-depth experinece of working to mechanical schematic drawings and technical instructions
Experience of both planned and reactive maintenance procedures
Experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a heavy engineering industry.
The ability to make sound engineering decisions.
Good communication skills, both written & oral.
Desirable

Experience within a Traction & Rolling Stock background.
