About us:
Wild Planet Trust is a registered education, scientific and conservation charity established in 1957 and based in Devon, UK. We own two zoos in south west England, plus two local nature reserves and a National Nature Reserve. We support conservation in the United Kingdom and overseas using funds generated by the people who visit the zoos and the expertise and dedication of our staff.
Paignton Zoo first opened its doors as the Torbay Zoological Gardens in 1923. Almost 100 years later, our site, and work, has grown considerably and we are now one of the South West’s largest conservation organisations and top visitor attractions. There are over 230 species of animal that call Paignton Zoo home. As well as being a zoo, we’re also a botanical garden with over 4,000 species on record.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Content Assistant to join our Creative Studio team on a fixed term contract for 18 months. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours over 5 days. The salary for this position is £20,085.00 per annum.
What will this role involve?
We are looking for a creative team player, with an eye for detail, to help us develop our digital output and integrate such content into our online platforms and physical exhibits. The role is based at Paignton Zoo but will require occasional travel to Newquay Zoo and our UK reserve sites to co-ordinate plans and projects. As part of the Creative Studio Team, you will assist our Digital Content Coordinator with the production and editing of new content, for use in-house and online, promoting the brand and work of the Wild Planet Trust in new and innovative ways.
What skills and experience are required?
You will be creative with excellent time management skills, great attention to detail, and able to turn your skills to a wide range of tasks and challenges. Demonstrable experience in creating engaging content (video and stills) is essential, and an awareness of the conservation roles of the modern zoo would be an advantage.
