Distribution Coordinator

Magenta are teamed up with a leading food distribution company in the search for an experienced Transport / Distribution Coordinator to join their growing operation.
The Package:
£25,000 – £28,000
5/7 day rota
12:00 midday – 9:30pm
Responsibilities:
* Plan and manage the teams efficiently, effectively, and safely in a customer service focused manner, ensuring the teams are deployed in a cost efficient way, ensuring budgets are not exceeded, and all drivers utilised on shifts.
* Plan all Team deployments at least 2-3 weeks in advance. Taking into consideration staff availability, and checking for any amendments that are required. New starters shift patterns to be conducive with business needs and requirements.
* Manage operational performance including service levels, complaints, shortages, Backhaul, etc.
* Review route optimisation using planning skill set, and update delivery instructions with real time information.
* Ensure that if any new business is routed within a Team, the driver is aware of the delivery instructions, and fully competent of all new instructions.
* Maintain the customer key and alarm code process, Plan to adapt delivery schedules to accommodate events such as Bank Holidays, road closures, Christmas and Easter etc.
* Support the team with planning and processes and any challenges that may arise with the planning and coordination of the operation, and to continually retain/support Drivers and DAS trainees. Be flexible in role to support operation requirements.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a distribution environment
* Competency in leading a team/ Proven Management skills
* Literacy, numeracy and basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook is required at intermediate level
* Able to support a varied work base, office and field based where needed.
* Hands on Leadership qualities
* Forward Thinking, positive, problem solving attitude,
* Full UK driving license
