Then look no further as we are recruiting for a number of Unit Specialists positions. Part of the operations team, these positions will report to our Unit managers and play a key role in delivering our research programme.

Pay rate: £11.36 per hr (inclusive of shift allowance)

Hours: working on a rota that includes weekends and bank holidays.

THE JOB

As a unit specialist, the primary purposes of your role would be the delivery of research on units but also providing care for our dogs and cats.

The role will offer you the opportunity to be directly responsible for the quality of research outcomes, whilst developing your knowledge of animal behaviour and training.

KEY OUTPUTS

In this role you will:

– deliver research tasks (collecting data/biological samples)

– be a safety/quality custodian, actively identify and propose improvements

– care for our dogs/cats through husbandry and training

– work weekends and bank holidays on a rota pattern

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

Education –

GSCE or equivalent.

Grade C or above is essential in Maths and English, and grade C or above in Science is preferable.

Experience –

Experience of having responsibility for planning your day to day tasks is essential.

Experience of working without supervision in a fast paced environment, as part of a team is essential.

Experience of working in an operations team and/or a research setting is desirable.

Specific skills –

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and SharePoint.

Priority settings and conflict management skills are essential for this role.

No need to be a dog/cat handler extraordinaire as we will provide all necessary training as part of your on-boarding.
