As the Editor of Drama and Theatre magazine, you will have the opportunity to influence the conversation around theatre education and practice, guiding the magazine to new heights of excellence. If you're passionate about the arts and ready to lead a respected publication that plays a vital role in the theatre community, this role is your stage.
This is a hybrid role, with three days in our Herne Hill, London office, offering a starting salary range of £27,000-£30,000 (DOE) plus benefits. We are committed to your growth and success, providing on-the-job training and support to help you thrive in this role.
What We Can Offer You:
* The opportunity to influence the conversation around theatre education and practice, guiding the magazine to new heights of excellence.
* Autonomy to lead the editorial process of six magazines annually, including proofreading, image sourcing, and independent sign-off, while maintaining top standards of accuracy and quality.
* A chance to leverage your journalistic skills to respond to sector events, creating and managing timely online news content.
* The opportunity to grow our social media presence across multiple platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and Instagram, with the help of tools like Echobox.
* Collaboration with an inspiring marketing team to produce compelling copy for advertising and create engaging fortnightly e-newsletters alongside the publisher.
* Management of the awards initiative from start to finish, including appointing a judging panel, shortlisting entries, coordinating performances, and representing the magazine at the event.
* Exposure to commercial success by working closely with the publishing team to produce content that aligns with our audience’s interests and maximises commercial opportunities.
